Center for Programming
In our programs, we dust off the past and bring it to vivid life through the gifts of our expert docents, interaction with leading scholars, and “boots on the ground” visits to historical sites. Your gift to the Center for Programming supports our core mission: meaningful, candid, and engaging presentations, discussions, and experiences that illuminate Michigan’s Jewish history for our state-wide community.
Your donation to the Center for Programming helps support:
Speakers Bureau
Audiences across the state have enjoyed “armchair tours” of Michigan’s Jewish past presented by our expert docents. With your support, we can continue to educate and train these keen advocates of historical understanding and create fascinating new presentations for synagogues, senior groups, historical societies, and civic organizations based on the cutting-edge knowledge created by our scholars.
Bus Tours
No experience brings history to life quite like standing in a place where it was made. Our popular bus tours are an unparalleled opportunity to step back in time and experience sites such as the Birwood Wall, the Schvitz, and Fort Michilimackinac. Your contribution helps us expand our excursions, train docents, and develop new expeditions, such as our 2020 Sukkot fall-color tour of northern Michigan’s historic synagogues and an outing to Michigan’s first Jewish cemetery in Ann Arbor.
Visiting Scholar Lecture Series
Every day, researchers around the world are adding well-substantiated truth to our understanding of history and depth to crucial and relevant topics. With your help, we can bring prestigious experts to our community to present groundbreaking research and engage our community in the dynamic work of exploring the influences and events that shape the world in which we participate in public life.
