Jewish Connections Tour of DIA

Hebrew writing on artworks at the DIA? Nazi-looted art rescued by the Monuments Men at the DIA? Jewish figures in the Detroit Industry murals at the DIA?

This in-person experience, overseen by tour directors Barbara Cohn and Sue Kalisky, highlights works of art at the DIA with Jewish connections.  Discover Jewish artists, confiscated paintings, Torah stories, community ties, and more. This is a tour you will remember.

  • This is an ongoing program: Please check back for additional dates

  • This tour is designed for ages 14 and up

  • Parking not included.  Parking options include the DIA lot off John R ($7/vehicle) or metered street parking

  • Tours depart from inside the DIA at the John R entrance; Please arrive 10 minutes early

  • Due to the DIA's evolving Covid protocols, groups are currently limited to 8 participants per docent

  • Plan for a 90-minute walking tour

  • Tour content is dependent on the DIA's exhibitions and is subject to change

  • No refunds unless the tour is canceled by JHSM

  • The DIA is free to tri-county residents (Wayne, Oakland, or Macomb) with ID. See the DIA website for non-resident rates.
