Join us in Grand Rapids for an inspiring afternoon as we give the L'dor V'dor Award, which recognizes an exceptional project or program dedicated to handing down Jewish history and culture to the next generations.  This year's recipients are the forces behind Grand Rapids's West Michigan Holocaust Memorial: Peg Finkelstein, Rob Franciosi, Nicole Katzman, Linda Pestka, and Steven Pestka. The memorial is an impressive and far-reaching combination of art, history, and education, comprising Ariel Schlesinger's Holocaust sculpture, "Ways to Say Goodbye" (in Frederik Meijer Gardens & Sculpture Park), and a website filled with biographies of West Michigan survivors and other tools for teachers and students.

About the Honorees:

• Peg Finkelstein is director of the Peg & Mort (z"L) Finkelstein Archives at Temple Emanuel
• Nicole D. Katzman is executive director of Jewish Federation of Grand Rapids
• Rob Franciosi is professor of English at Grand Valley State University
• Linda Petska is the daughter of survivor Henry Pestka and works in the family business
• Steven Pestka is the son of survivor Henry Pestka has served as a civil and public servant
