It's that time of year again!  Time for our year-in-review, annual elections, and awards.   This year's Leonard N. Simons History-Maker Awardee is Jodee Fishman Raines.  Twice recognized by Crain's Detroit Business, Raines currently serves as the COO of New Detroit, an organization dedicated to dismantling racism.  Raines got her start in community philanthropy with the Skillman Foundation.  She then earned a JD from Wayne State University and practiced law at Bodman PLC.  Raines later served as the director of the Jewish Fund and at the Fred A. and Barbara M. Erb Family Foundation.

The 2025 Knowledge Production Award goes to JHSM Vice President Nadav Pais-Greenapple, a scholar of Yiddish and Jewish Detroit.  The award is given in recognition of his significant contributions to the field of Michigan Jewish History, including a 2023 MJH journal article on Detroit's Yiddish theater and his translation of Detroit's 1907 Yiddish directory, freely available here.

The annual meeting is free, but registration is required.  Sponsorship opportunities ($50-$1000) are also available.  All sponsors receive recognition in our printed materials, including day-of signage and in the Bulletin.  Logos may be emailed to info@jhsmichigan.org.
