Special screening of Dr. Henry Louis Gates, Jr.'s new film, Black and Jewish America: An Interwoven History, followed by a Detroit-focused panel discussion including our CEO, Catherine Cangany, PhD. 

Panel will include: 

  • Moderator: Angelique Power, president and CEO of the Skillman Foundation

  • Ken Coleman, journalist and author, eminent historian of Black life in Detroit

  • Catherine Cangany, PhD scholar and historian, CEO of Jewish Historical Society of Michigan

  • Rev. Aramis Hinds, Lead Pastor of Breakers Covenant Church International, and member of Detroit PBS Black Church in Detroit Advisory Committee

  • Rabbi Ariana Silverman of the Isaac Agree Downtown Synagogue, Detroit’s last freestanding synagogue
