Join us for a private tour of the “Women of the Kahn Family” exhibit at the University of Michigan’s Duderstadt Center Gallery. Our tour guide is Carol Kahn, exhibit creator and daughter of Edgar and Rose Kahn, and granddaughter of Albert and Ernestine Kahn.
About the Exhibit (on view January 6-20, 2026):
This exhibit honors the women of the Kahn family. As the first-ever comprehensive gallery exhibit dedicated to the Kahn women’s groundbreaking achievements, this exhibit reveals their hidden architectural, social, and cultural histories. Photos, writings, books, and other artifacts will be displayed from the archives of Albert Kahn Associates, Inc., the Bentley Historical Library, Archives of American Art, the Helen Keller Archives, the Burton Collection, and the Cleveland Public Library, as well as from the personal collections of family members. The exhibit also includes a special mention of the founder of Pewabic Pottery, Mary Chase Perry Stratton, for her collaboration with Albert Kahn.
This exhibit also honors the thirtieth anniversary of the Duderstadt Center, designed by Albert Kahn Associates.
If there is enough interest, a carpool option will be available.
